That morning, at Buon Me Thuot airport, we, from the North, Central and South, met after a year of hard work. Familiar voices and faces, often contacted via phone, email and chat apps, were shaking hands, hugging each other and sharing endless stories.
In the car, through the tourist guide, we heard about the customs of the ethnic minorities and the rich culture there. The first place we came was Sac Tu Khai Doan Pagoda - the largest pagoda in Buon Ma Thuot. The whole team got the first photo in the trip.
We were even more excited to visit the city museum. In the museum, we learned about the geographical features of the area. We watched the objects from the Stone Age, Neolithic, to the Bronze Age... and the period of resistance against France and the United States.
In the afternoon, male employees took part in the tennis tournament while female employees went to visit Buon Ma Thuot prison where the French colonialists detained patriots, the Communist Party members.
On the second day, we visited the Coffee World Museum, then went to enjoy coffee at Trung Nguyen Coffee Village, a very famous brand in Vietnam.
In the same morning, we visited Ako Dhong village, the richest village in Dak Lak province.
In the afternoon, we arrived at a famous place which is 30km from the city and have gone into music for a long time with the famous baby elephant: Don Village.
That night was probably the most impressive night of the trip to me. After enjoying bamboo cooked rice with grilled chicken and forest vegetables, we walked on a suspension bridge across Serepok river – the river with backward flow.
In the campfire and exchange of gongs with ethnic minorities, we were all burned to the heart with straw liquor, in the echo of gongs, by the flaming fire, and with lively dance. It was exciting and cozy.
On the third day, we visited Lak Lake, the largest natural freshwater lake in Dak Lak and the second largest in Vietnam (after Ba Be Lake). There we visited Bao Dai Palace. After that, we rode elephant and took dug-out canoe. In the afternoon, we visited the majestic Dray Nur waterfall.
The Gala that night concluded the trip with countless experiences and new knowledge.
Summer is the time for us to come back and gather in the cozy house, to have more strength to continue making new achievements in the near future as the slogan of the trip “WORK HARD, PLAY HARD”
