Long Son Cement Plant was built in Dong Son Ward, Bim Son Town, Thanh Hoa province, with modern design, synchronous production line using equipment from famous suppliers from Europe. The plant has three lines with a total capacity of up to 10.5 million tons/year, including equipment that requires a very special lubrication regime to operate stably, safely and with high efficiency.
Understanding the above requirements, with long-term experience in the industry of providing general lubricants and special lubricants for open gears in particular, Vu Minh Company came directly to the plant to survey lubricants and lubrication systems currently used for open gears of coal mill no. 2.
Long Son Cement Plant
After a period of use, for open gears of the coal mill of line no. 2 of Long Son Cement Plant, its black oil for dipping lubrication has revealed the following disadvantages:
- Low viscosity and adhesion, poor gear surface protection;
- Oil often splashes out, which is dirty and unsanitary at the mill.
- It is very difficult to examine the gear surface because of black oil.
- Dirt easily penetrates into the oil bath, causing gear scratches.
After thoroughly surveying the lubrication system and the condition of the gear surface, Vu Minh Company has provided two solutions to handle the above problem as follows:
- Upgrade automatic spray pump system for coal mill, changed from immersion lubrication to automatic spray pump, replace old grease pump with unstable operation with Assalub 0102093 pump, set up operating parameters for control cabinet, adjust position and spraying angle for nozzles.
- Use Klubersynth OA 98-15000 high quality open gear lubricating oil to replace black oil.

- Klubersynth OA 98-15000 oil has a viscosity of 19000 Cst and high adhesion, based on SLIBF proprietary technology (Soild Lubricant Intergrated Base Fluid) for higher load capacity and better gear surface protection
- The amount of Klubersynth OA 98-15000 spray pump is scientifically calculated, the cost for lubricating the gear is lower when immersed.
- Consumption of lubricating oil for the open gears is reduced, the temperature and vibration are lower than when the open gear is immersed in black oil, it clearly shows the superior lubrication of Klubersynth OA 98-15000.
- The gear surface has been greatly improved in comparison to the previous one. The gear surface is smooth, the old scratches and pits do not develop further.
- Clean oil is sprayed directly on the working surface of the gear, easy to check the gear surface with the naked eye, the oil does not splash out and cause the unsanitary environment.
The upgrade of the lubrication system and the use of Klubersynth OA 98-15000 high-quality lubricant for the open gears of the coal mill no. 2 has shown the correctness of the Board of Directors of Long Son Cement Plant in order to improve the stability and safety factor when operating coal mills, and at the same time, it shows the ability to renovate open gears lubricating equipment of Vu Minh Company and the market-leading product quality of Kluber grease.
